Photo Metadata Viewer
See the GPS coordinates, camera and serial numbers hidden in a photo — and strip them out.
Everything here runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type, paste, or upload is ever sent to a server, logged, or stored.
About the Photo Metadata Viewer
Reads the metadata embedded in a photo — GPS coordinates, capture time, camera make, model and serial number, lens, and editing history — and can write out a copy with all of it removed.
When you would use it
- Before posting a photo taken at home, so the location does not go with it.
- Checking whether images you have already published carry coordinates.
- Confirming that another tool actually stripped metadata rather than claiming to.
What it does not tell you
Stripping metadata does not anonymise a photograph. The picture itself still shows what it shows, and sensor-level traces are not removed. Some platforms strip metadata on upload and others do not — check rather than assume. The file never leaves your browser: it is read and rewritten locally.
