Email Address Validator
Check an address is written correctly and its domain can receive mail.
This tool has to ask the internet. What you enter is sent to our server, which queries public DNS, registry or certificate data on your behalf. We never log it, store it, or pass it to anyone else — but unlike the browser-only tools, it does leave your device.
About the Email Address Validator
Checks an address in two independent ways: whether it is written correctly according to the rules for addresses, and whether its domain publishes MX records, meaning some server is prepared to accept mail for it.
When you would use it
- Cleaning a mailing list before sending to it.
- Debugging a signup form that rejects an address you believe is valid.
- Checking a domain in a message before replying to it.
What it does not tell you
Neither check proves the mailbox exists. A domain can accept mail for every address at it and discard most of them, and the only way to know an address is live is to send to it and see. Addresses with a plus sign, tags, or unusual quoting are valid far more often than most validators allow. The domain lookup runs on our server; the syntax check would run anywhere.
