DNS Propagation Checker

Compare what four major public resolvers are currently returning.

This tool has to ask the internet. What you enter is sent to our server, which queries public DNS, registry or certificate data on your behalf. We never log it, store it, or pass it to anyone else — but unlike the browser-only tools, it does leave your device.

About the DNS Propagation Checker

Asks several major public resolvers the same question at the same time and puts their answers side by side, so you can see whether a change has reached them all yet.

When you would use it

  • After changing a DNS record, to see how far the change has spread.
  • Diagnosing a report that a site works for some people and not others.
  • Confirming that an old value has finally expired everywhere you can check.

What it does not tell you

DNS does not really propagate: there is no push, only caches expiring at their own pace. Agreement between the resolvers checked here does not mean every resolver in the world agrees, and your own network or router may hold a stale answer regardless. Unlike the rest of the suite this tool queries named third-party resolvers by design, because comparing them is the entire point.
